Robyn Rihanna, better popularly known as Rihanna in Barbados, is a Barbadian musician and singer who has released popular songs such as Pon de Replay Umbrella SOS and Take a Bow. A very successful artist still at the peak of her young age, she's sold more than 41 million albums and 150 million tracks across the globe, becoming one of the best-selling artists ever. Her birthplace was in Barbados and grew up with reggae. After she learned to sing, she became professional. Afraid of her chaotic family life and the constant arguments between her parents she immersed herself in music, and eventually realized that she wished to become a professional musician. As a teenager she joined a rock band. Evan Rodgers auditioned her and was extremely impressed. The producer requested that she move in New York and pursue a singing career full-time. Rihanna happily accepted. The debut album of Rihanna quickly went viral and she was hailed as an international sensation. Rihanna was loved by youngsters for her uplifting and foot-tapping songs. The result was Rihanna pursuing directing. She is a young, talented woman who has become her own style icon as well as a teenager icon. Rihanna is also active with charities and makes use of her celebrity status to benefit charities.
