Awkwafina

American actor and musician Awkwafina made her debut with humorous rap tracks that tackled racial identity and sexuality with boldly comedic perspective before broadening her reach to Hollywood. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came in the form of trumpet. Additionally, she was given the classical and jazz education later becoming a hip-hop teenager. While in the college years, she remained focused on her studies, and then studied women's studies and journalism. While she was for a brief amount of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. After graduating, it wasn't until that she shifted her focus to music. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in the year 2012. The track was later included in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. On the album, there was other hits that went viral, including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$1. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015. This was a different project. As a musician and an author in her portfolio, she decided to set her sights on a third endeavor actor. Apart from the early television shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she has also been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered several breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, in Fina We Trust in June of the year.
